Spark Awards 2019

From Our Friends at Spokane MarCom

June 27, 2019 by Megan

We had so much fun at the Spark Awards in April, hanging out with friends, family, colleagues (who are also friends!), and even making some new connections, too! Barrister Winery had tasty potent potables of course, but the food was also super delicious (and we really need to get more of those brownies…like, immediately).

By far the most rewarding part of the evening was celebrating the successes of our marketing compatriots, as well as being honored with some accolades for Rogue Heart Media’s work. Our own Mallory Battista was recognized for her four years of service on the board of the Spokane Regional MarCom Association where she created beautiful visual designs for both digital and print. We also loved seeing the student awards showcased at the event this year. The Spark Awards were inspiring to say the least, and we are beyond grateful to Spokane MarCom and the local communityespecially the North Monroe Business District and the amazing people we’ve worked with at the City of Spokane! We are absolutely thrilled that the Meet on Monroe campaign won both an Award of Excellence as well as the Dussault Community Impact Award. Needless to say, we are delighted to share the glow of such a lovely award with everyone involved in creating and supporting the project!

The Meet on Monroe campaign is near and dear to our hearts. The Rogue Heart Media studio is located right on Monroe Street, so we were already committed to helping Monroe to thrive during construction, yet words cannot convey just how honored we are to receive the Dussault Community Impact Award in recognition of this outstanding and ongoing project. We can’t wait to continue to support the North Monroe Business District and our neighbors and friends along our revitalized street. Check out Meet on Monroe’s Facebook page and website to find future events and get more information about the new and improved North Monroe.

As an added bonus to receiving the 2019 Dussault Community Impact Award for Meet on Monroe, Rogue Heart Media was invited to present at MarCom’s June meeting as a featured speaker! We had a blast speaking alongside The Woodshop about “How to Create an Award Winning Campaign.” Mike and I spoke in tandem about the goals and the measurable successes of Meet on Monroe, as well as the various ways we approached crafting the content (which involved jumping between planned character pieces about the neighbors along Monroe and quick, impromptu, update-based videos). Getting up in front of a crowd was a little nerve-wracking, but Monroe is one of our favorite topics, so it was worth it! (Plus we were the bacon sponsor…which means we get to eat as much bacon as we want, right?)

Huge thanks to Spokane MarCom for honoring a wonderful project that we are still celebrating every day on Monroe Street, and thanks as well to the City of Spokane for giving us the opportunity to be a part of a truly special campaign! #MeetonMonroe #ForLife

… And while Mallory’s board service may be coming to a close, we are excited to continue supporting Spokane MarCom with our membership and involvement, lead by our newest team member Greta Carlson, who is currently serving as their Communications Chair. See you at a future MarCom meeting and most certainly at the next Spark Awards!
