SNAP’s Ode to Opportunity Luncheon Inspires

Positive Outcomes & Increased Human Potential

Gathered in the great hall of a large venue in downtown Spokane, surrounded by countless round tables filled with community members, donors, business representatives, and local leaders… the air was filled with energy and camaraderie. SNAP’s Ode to Opportunity annual event was officially underway, and the major fundraising efforts of this program alone would ultimately result in assistance and support being made available to thousands of Spokane residents through the 30+ programs and services SNAP offers.

The event highlight was surely Kent Hoffman‘s keynote speech on each and every human being’s innate Infinite Worth. The striking and inspiring words Kent shared held the room of hundreds in humbled awe. Another noteworthy segment of the luncheon program (if I do say so myself) was the screening of a 12-minute video feature, produced by Rogue Heart, which spotlit several key SNAP programs and numerous voices who spoke to the positive impacts of the services and support. From the foreclosure prevention, transitional housing, senior ombudsman program, transit assistance, and many other organized efforts to help our neighbors in need, SNAP is there to lift others up.

The Ode to Opportunity luncheon was impactful and meaningful to all lucky enough to attend, and it was a striking moment of pride to be a part of the team who helped share the stories of those who have experienced positive outcomes after receiving assistance from SNAP here in Spokane. Seeing and hearing the voices of actual SNAP clients brought a whole new level of emotion, connection, and a further commitment to support this local nonprofit organization doing so much good in the community.
