You probably didn't get one

So for the last few years we’ve crafted a creative Holiday Card. We end up ordering 250 of them when we have a mailing list of 120, but then somehow keep adding names to the list and they all end up going out. This year, we again ordered 250 cards… but when we received the cards we were a little sheepish about sending them out. I think we maybe sent out 74 cards. We were happy with the way the image came out technically, but we started to wonder if they would feel a little arrogant? At least without context.
It felt a little odd we had featured ourselves so prominently. Many of the projects we worked on in 2017 were featured in the tiled frames behind us which we were excited about. The inspiration for the card was actually the DVD cover for Eddie the Eagle. Megan and I really enjoyed the film and were inspired by the superhero posing on the cover, I’m pretty sure it was Megan’s idea to recreate the look with our team.
Even though we were too self-conscious to send the card out to everyone we still had a great time with it. Most of our work keeps us out in the field so it’s fun to have an excuse to shoot in the studio!
Hope you all got to enjoy a break over the Christmas, and sorry if you didn’t get a card this season… maybe next year.
